Any Card. At Any Number. The Holy Grail of all magic… has been solved.

With bold claims comes the need for irrefutable proof. It’s time to unveil The Atomic Deck.

When David Berglas introduced the ACAAN, he gave the magic world a seemingly unsolvable puzzle. A Penrose triangle of endless mystery.

But… in early 2021, Craig Petty made a discovery that would shake the very foundations of the entire magic community. A breakthrough that redefined the boundaries of the impossible.

With The Atomic Deck, this happens. Every. Single. Time.

The magician openly places a deck on the table. Everyone thinks of a random card and a random number. No forces. The audience does everything they can to avoid commonly chosen cards and numbers. They may change their choice as often as they like. Only when everyone is convinced that no influence has taken place does the magician slowly and clearly pick up the deck, while the audience watches every micro-moment closely. Card by card is dealt until the chosen number is reached… The card is turned over, and it is exactly the card they were thinking of.

Perfection.
Every. Single. Time.

Here’s what you need to know before you try to figure out how it works:

No memorization required.
No sleight of hand.
Easy to perform.
They don’t even have to say their card or number.
The cards are not cut, moved, or manipulated in any way.
The deck remains in full view the entire time.
Cards can be dealt into the spectator’s hands.
No roughing sprays.

Marc Paul, a friend and student of David Berglas, literally wrote the rules for ACAAN. He was also the only one granted permission to perform Berglas’s ACAAN on national television. A performance that went down in history as one of the most perfect ACAAN performances ever.

When Craig showed him The Atomic Deck, his reaction was:

“That is the Berglas effect… You’ve cracked it. This is every magician’s dream… It’s the closest version to The Holy Grail that I’ve seen anyone do.”

We get it. This sounds too good to be true. What are the downsides? We’re transparent about this.

1️⃣ Examination by a magician: If you show it to a magician and they examine the deck, they’ll notice it’s not an ordinary deck of cards. But as you can see in the trailer, non-magicians can look at the cards fairly freely without anything seeming suspicious. Still, we don’t recommend letting them take the deck home.

2️⃣ Use of a phone: Unlike most other ACAAN methods, no mental math is required. Instead, we make use of something everyone always has with them: their phone. Thanks to a clever technique, the audience unconsciously encodes the information you need to perform this illusion perfectly. You don’t need a phone or a peek device. Everything happens naturally and subtly, without even feeling like part of the trick.

“Ik wil geen telefoon gebruiken!”
No problem! Several methods are explained that allow you to perform this without any phone at all.

3️⃣ Not real magic, but as close as we’ll ever get.
When you see the method, you’ll understand why. Everything—from the presentation to the gimmicks and tools—works together to do the hard work for you behind the scenes, so it looks like pure magic.

A breakthrough in card technology
Craig’s breakthrough with The Atomic Deck brought another bizarre twist: no roughing spray, stick, powder, wax, or anything of the sort is needed. Thanks to a revolutionary process, the decks come straight off the printing press, identical and perfect, every single time. Plus, they last just as long as a regular deck of cards, because there’s nothing that can wear off or fade.

And speaking of legends…

Over the past decade, one mentalist has risen from the thousands to be regarded as the new generation of living legends. A modern grandmaster considered by many to be the best mentalist and mind reader in the world:

Peter Turner.

Peter Turner made a name for himself through two things: prop-less mentalism and outwitting the sharpest minds with his ACAAN. When we showed him The Atomic Deck, he said:

“That’s better than any version of Any Card at Any Number that I’ve ever done… That genuinely is the cleanest version of Any Card At Any Number that I’ve ever seen in my life.”

In 1976, a web was woven. An Escher staircase of impossibilities, an endless hunt for gold at the end of the rainbow. The more people tried to unravel the riddle, the tighter the knot became. The ACAAN is and remains the ultimate mystery.

Murphy’s Studio is proud to introduce you, for the first time, to…
