A small, playing-card-sized metal plaque is shown to the audience. Three holes have been drilled in it, corresponding to three different colors: yellow, green, and red. A spectator is now invited to take two bolts and two nuts and secure them in two of the holes, leaving the third hole free. Attention is drawn to an envelope that has been lying on the table all along. It is a large plate (approximately 25 cm x 16 cm) that matches the plate presented to the audience.

In fact, as soon as the plate is removed from the envelope, the audience can see that it contains two bolts secured in the two holes chosen by the audience! The envelope is empty, and the magician can unscrew a bolt or two to prove they are authentic. Includes the two metal plates, a question mark sticker to place on an envelope, and all the bolts needed to perform the effect.
