On your pedestal is a stand displaying: 8 razor blades and a spool of thread. Take the blades one by one and ask a few spectators to check their sharpness by inviting them to cut a few playing cards or a few sheets of newspaper.
Then enjoy your meal…
You take the blades again and eat them, chewing thoroughly…
Your “zachte maag” allows you to swallow the eight razor blades without any trouble!!!
With the blades in your mouth, you grab the spool, let out a good length of thread, which you also decide to eat. To help everything digest properly, you toast the audience’s health and drink (according to your taste) a little milk or a little wine.
Once your stomach has settled, bring your thumb and index finger to your mouth, grab the end of the string, and… through stomach contractions, you now pull the blades out of your mouth, one by one, tied to the string!!!
The audience can count as they reappear: “1 – 2 -3… 7- 8″—the count is correct, they’re all there!
