Here is a great classic of mental and card magic that has been performed by many of the greatest magicians… even by David Copperfield!
This version is similar to the popular trick, but with an extra twist at the end.
In short: the magician spreads a small stack of cards out in front of the spectator. He asks a spectator to simply think of ONE of the cards (no coercion). The choice remains ONLY in the spectator’s mind at all times. After a moment of concentration, the magician removes one of the cards and lets it protrude visibly from his pocket.
The stack of cards is shown to the spectator again, and only one card is missing… exactly the card the spectator was thinking of!
Now comes the twist: the magician asks the spectator to remove the card they had in mind, to imagine the ink disappearing… and the card that was taken from the stack becomes completely BLANK!
