When Kranzilla (Kranzo) takes on a classic, you know there’s a twist coming. Counting cards and discarding them to get them back into your hand is a trick that’s been around forever, but in Nathan Kranzo’s hands, it becomes not only captivating but also gets a kicker your audience won’t see coming. Here’s what happens:

The magician shows the audience four cards with blue backs, which they gently shuffle between their fingers. The magician places one card in his pocket or hat, keeping it in plain sight, so he can show the audience the classic three-card trick. Magically, a new card is produced within the magician’s reach. The card is discarded so the magician can show the audience the old three-card trick. The card returns time and again until the magician gives up trying to lose the cards. In a final twist, the blue-backed cards turn out to have changed into red cards.

This trick uses a fantastic set of gimmicked cards that do practically all the work for you.
