Basic Routine

You produce several party poppers and explain that only one of them will pop; the strings of the others have been cut beforehand. Ask the audience to make a well-considered decision, because whichever one they choose, you secure the popper in a transparent clamp that’s easy to bite down on, put it in your mouth, and let the audience pull the string. If the wrong firecracker is chosen, it will go off in the magician’s mouth.

After you’ve bitten down firmly on the clamp and have the firecracker in your mouth, the audience pulls the string themselves. Each string offers noticeable resistance, making it feel like it’s really going to go off every time.

No matter how the audience chooses, you remain safe until only the last firecracker remains. You thank them for making the right choices and celebrate the moment with that firecracker. Bang!! With streamers flying through the air, the audience bursts into applause.
