Hearing is one of our most important senses. But what if we could change how we perceive it? That is exactly what João Miranda and his team have developed: a state-of-the-art speaker system called Equalizer, which allows a magician to create illusions that are almost indistinguishable from reality.
The sound quality of the Equalizer is incredibly good. Even clear sounds, such as the ringing of a bell or the opening of a soda can, sound so realistic that it’s hard to tell if it’s a sound effect or real.
The Equalizer unit features an internal micro-SD card reader, volume controls, a three-position switch (to select different sounds), a front-facing main button (to play, pause, or fast-forward tracks), and a custom-made high-quality magnetic speaker.
The unit features programmable delay activation with vibration feedback, ensuring the performer is always in control.
The set comes complete with: Equalizer unit Micro-SD card USB adapter 2 x connection cables Gimmicked music box Svengali blank card set Magnetic belt holder Charging connector Belt clip
To get you started, we’ll teach you six effects, each designed with professionally recorded sounds:
- Music Box: The performer shows a metal music box and places it in his box. The spectator then selects a song, and when the performer plays the music, it matches the selection! To top it all off, the music box vanishes without a trace!
- Bell divination: A bell rings on its own and finds the chosen card. Everything can be examined before and after.
- Glass Disappearance Kicker: A classic effect where a glass passes through a table while covered by a newspaper, but this time the audience can actually touch the glass with a coin before it vanishes without a trace.
- Vanishing deck: The classic effect where a deck of cards vanishes, except for the signed card. Thanks to the Equalizer, the audience will truly believe that the entire deck is in the performer’s hands, because they hear the rustling, which takes the illusion to a whole new level.
- Vanishing Matches (created by Miguel Pinto): The performer opens a matchbox and asks a spectator to take a match and sign it. The match is returned and mixed in with the others. Suddenly, all the matches have vanished, except for the one signed by the spectator!
- AM/FM Radio: The magician draws a radio on a small notepad. Incredibly, the notepad plays the sound of a radio station! The magician can play or pause the sound at any time.
At the end, the notepad is shown to be completely empty, and the signed page can be handed out as a souvenir.
Make sure to follow the instructions carefully, as this is a technically complex gimmick.
