What if you could manipulate the invisible? Fragrance
offers unforgettable sensory experiences based on scent! Calix is a French mentalist and magician, a true professional who takes his tricks and creations to a very high level. As the creator of Sigaba and Social Assistant, Calix offers a new concept with Fragrance.
One word will echo after your performance: IMPOSSIBLE!
And yet, what you will demonstrate to your audience is entirely possible with Fragrance
—and fits right in your pocket!
After greeting your audience, you pull out a small perfume sample and let them smell it. Everything is completely harmless and familiar to everyone. Take the scent of cherry, for example.
Everyone clearly recognizes the scent coming from this spray thanks to the liquid you just placed in the spectator’s hand. On the count of three, this scent disappears—she can no longer smell it. Confusion sets in. Has she lost her sense of smell? Is she under hypnosis? Is her brain playing tricks on her? As the skilled manipulator that you are, the scent returns to the hand whenever you want, and the spectator can smell the cherry again. Incredible. This can even be repeated a second time.
And that’s not all. The next step is sure to baffle even the most skeptical spectators. Another snap of your fingers, and this time the scent of cherry disappears completely for everyone. No one can smell this otherwise strong scent anymore, which you had visibly placed on the spectator’s palm. You now choose another member of the audience, ask him to hold out his hand, and as unbelievable as it may sound, the scent has been moved! You have literally and effortlessly placed it in his palm. You read that right—you’ve just achieved the impossible: something completely intangible has been moved from one spectator’s hand to another’s, exactly when you decided.
And you know what?
“Als je het kunt ruiken, kun je het doen!”
YES! Because Fragrance
is extraordinarily simple. The performance is full of little tricks that reinforce the audience’s belief at every step and make your effect highly impactful. These small persuasive elements, scattered throughout your act, truly lead your audience into a routine of pure magic.
Fragrance
is much more than a trick. It’s a tool you’ll definitely integrate into your repertoire and won’t want to part with—not only because of its powerful effect, but also because it allows you to do so much more than just a single scent experience.
