Here’s what happens:

Three cards are selected by three different spectators and then lost in the deck. The clearly distinct jokers are placed face down on top of the deck and immediately spread out to reveal that one of the selected cards has appeared among them. The jokers and the first selected card are laid on the table, where the first selected card impossibly changes into the second selected card! The audience divides the deck into three piles, wherever they like, and places the jokers in completely different sections of the deck. The deck is then straightened, and without any strange movements, it is spread out again to reveal that the jokers have traveled to capture just one card in the middle of the deck, and that is actually the last selected card.
